This is a great article. I am new to the site. After reading the original article on Facebook I posted it to my page. I was excited and hoped it would help some of my friends understand me better. A friend made the statement that it’s my perception of HSP. It’s all in my mind and how I look at it. Why do some people just not get it. If you don’t that’s fine but I wish they would keep their comments to themselves.

  2. Cheri, thank you so much for the post! FB has been something that I do mindlessly way too much. I even made a deal with my daughter just this week. We each have to do our morning chores and routines BEFORE we can get on our phone or tablet. I found several items on your list that I could do to make better use of my time and I plan to do what you suggested about write 5 things on a Post-It note. Thanks, again!

I really like the list of alternatives to Facebook! Far more productive.

  4. This is a really awesome list! I find that watching an episode of a good tv show or reading a chapter in a good book (usually classics) are great ways for me to feel grounded and connect with myself. Also tea, playing the piano, writing in my journal, and if I have time, a hot soak.

  5. Love this!! I would add to my list to work on the novel I’ve been trying to write for years, as well as put together more photo albums, and play more piano! There’s so many lovely things!

  6. Tickle/hug/zerbert my kids! (The two year old has an especially delicious giggle!)

Thank you so much for this insightful post, Cheri! I’ve been following this blog for a while now and just wanted to say how much of a blessing it’s been to me. This post hits home especially, as I struggle with attachment anxiety, and I often browse Facebook or old email messages when I have too much spare time with “nothing” to do. I always regret this, as I have an amazing husband whom I wouldn’t trade for anything, and it’s never a good idea to idealize the past and focus on people who are not in my life anymore for a reason. This list will save me from much unnecessary heartache and bad decisions. Thank you so much! 🙂
